Post Second WV Buck .. tagged out
I took this nice 8 point on Thanksgiving Day..

I want to apoligize to Freddy up front for the Tounge hanging out in the picture.. I didn't even realize it until later after I had skinned the deer and uploaded the photos onto my Laptop..

I glassed this buck from my Truck on Public Land on a road named the Bald Knob road in Pocahontas if anyone knows where that is, it's right on the VA Highland county border off of Route 84 directly across the road from the Patty's Knob road, anyway I saw this buck on a ridge named the Rider Ridge from about 500 yds away in the snow, he had two does he was chasing, I parked the truck and put a stalk on him.. I was able to use the terrain to get within about 250 yds and take the shot, at the shot I knew I hit him but he went out of sight, I found the trail and sit down and waited for an hour before tracking any more, when I did start tracking him I found where he laid down, and got back up and was just walking around an old skid road, I slowly and quietly trailed him and I caught up to him and spotted him limping up the hill above me.. I finished him off with a good clean second shot. The first shot hit him low and broke both his front legs and just caught the front of his brisket, I feel fortunate to have caught him and make a clean kill.
