First ever true longbeard
So on April second I won a free guided turkey hunt at jakes day in Myersville Maryland. The hunt was today on youth day, we got to the farm and setup in a blind looking over an open field, we didn't see anything and had only heard one bird that was getting father away from us ever time he gobbled. so me and Dad decided to go to a farm which he has scouted two days and knows there's turkeys there so we left the farm at 745 and beelined it two uncle BIGMEATS house to pick him up and head to dads farm at 830 and knew there would be birds in the field. Got out the truck and started to creep our way down the bushes to a blind dad has set up and uncle made a few purrs and clucks as we where walking and a bird gobbles 60 yards over a little hill so we sat up in the bushes and waited uncle was back about ten feet and made some yelps and the bird was on his way about five minutes later I look up the field edge and see the bird coming (initially as I saw him he saw the decoys and went into full strut and his head went from blue to red) I got situated and waited till I got a clear shot through the brush he took five more steps and another bird popped up. I put the bead on his head and BOOM. He dropped and dad went running like an Olympic sprinter out of the field. Bigmeat got me shooting on vid and my tacticam got it to. Pretty quick hunt 15 mins 10.5 inch beard, right spur 1 inch and left 15/16 inch, weighted 24.5 pounds big ole farm bird. Thanks to dad and uncle for the hunt and experience

That’s a great first bird and story. I remember mine like it was yesterday and you’ll always remember yours like that. Congrats!!

Really great report. You were hooked on the gobblers befor this so imagine now you are a full devotee of the spring tradition for the rest of your life

Words cannot describe the feelings i have about Wild Bill and just how awesome it is to see the look in a boys eyes as he holds his first long beard. the hunt itself was amazing and very blessed to have bigmeat along to experience it all too. Proud Dad, yes I am.
