A little luck on a windy day...
Headed out with 2 good friend visiting from SC this morning in the 40 MPH wind. Decided for all of us to hunt low so I was headed over to the deep hollow on the East side of the property. Before I got there in the dark I could hear a buck chasing a doe all over the place below me on the creek. Of course, right before shooting light they headed out of dodge. But he made the fatal mistake of coming back... Made a really nice 90-100 yard shot uphill through the woods. He ran down a steep bluff and left us with nothing but a downhill drag to the truck. Good morning... it's a seven pointer, a bit better than yesterdays buck.
