A little bit of good Luck 11-7-17
I had a lot of health issues over the last 6 Months that were very life threatening at times and this why I titled this story as " A Little Bit Of Good Luck" Tuesday Nov 7th I decided to go out Muzzleloader Hunting but not being able to walk far I decided to slip into a little cover area where I new bucks would be cruising. Well I didn't get there till late it was around 6:15 or so but the leaves were wet and a had perfect NW breeze blowing making it a good entrance into that area. I made my way down the ridge to where I could see the creek bottom good and found a good tree to set down against. I pulled the can of Buck Bomb out and sprayed 4 times in the air and it wasn't 15 Minutes and I heard a limb snap behind my right shoulder and I turned to see a 6 Pt standing looking down the hill at me. He was acting real skittish and then I heard noise on the other tree and there were four does standing 15 Yards away looking up the hill. I went to turn back to the other side to look at the buck and this deer was standing 5 Yards in front me glaring at the does. I went to cock the hammer on My Muzzle Loader and heard it the click he made to Lunges toward the does and stop with his head behind the tree. I shouldered my CVA 45 Cal and and shot him at 7 steps from the base of the tree. Its my largest deer I've ever killed 10 Pts with and inside spread of 22 1/2" and green scored 147 7/8" I had one trail cam photo of this deer on 8/31/17 and no one has ever seen him around prior to that trail cam photo. I would say I had a little good Luck

Nice mount. Nice of your daughter to help you out.
I bet I know what tree you will be next to this year. Be hard to beat that one.
How are you feeling? Vic

Vic
Thanks for asking. I'm not fighting for my life anymore (Praise the Lord) and the infection has finally disappeared after a long battle. I'm left with a useless Shoulder but its better then the alternative. I will have a total shoulder replacement sometime this fall and they say I will gain 75% of my mobility back. I'm happy just to be around for another deer season and watch over my daughter growing up.
Thank Again My Friend

Beautiful mount, Great job on the eyes, nose and ears. Glad to hear you are doing well. Will be hard to repeat on a deer like that but at least you will be out there.
