Our back forty 1 hen 9 poults. Robin size and roosting.
Farm where I keep my lobster traps and boat 1 hen with 10 poults and one hen and five poults.
We are in for our third year of great brood production. That is some great news. You are blessed in NH. I almost made it to a couple New England States this year but stopped at PA and NY. Earl

Re: Poults?????????
Saw my first poults of the season in Suffolk VA yesterday afternoon. Hen with 11 poults! They were just bigger than a balled up fist but crossed a backroad right in front of me. They flapped and got about a 3 foot lift crossing the ditch.
Good to finally see some!

Checked a camera this weekend and got a pic of a hen with 11 poult's about grouse size. Maybe it wasn't a complete bust this spring.

Re: Poults?????????
Wife and I drove around base Sat. morning right after the rain passed through. Now we seen some turkey, deer, rabbits and all. But the break down is listed below. I had the camera and the wife had the binos. We seen a lot of the turkeys along the road and the ones we seen in the fields the grass was short enough to see poults. We only seen one hen with 2 very small poults.
Not identified.......... 3 Hens........23 Longbeards..........7 Jakes........5
Have not seen first poult around the farmlands out around where I live. Did hear of 2 nests with the hens being run over on the first hay cutting.

Re: Poults?????????
I have seen 2 different hens with 4 poults each in the last week. The poults were almost chicken sized, but not quite. Hope there are some that will make it.

Re: Poults?????????
Seen two longbeards strutting with two hens and 7 Jakes yesterday. They were harvesting the barley out of the field and the driver saw a nest with 8 eggs in it and he picked up so he wouldn't disturb it. Still have not seen a poult
