Post New twist on My Doan's cans...NEW PIC ADDED
Most of you know my love for tube calls in particular those made from Doan's pill cans.
A couple years ago I developed an interest in trumpets and just recently I had an idea for a unique trumpet design...a combination of the two!
I got with call maker Austin Bott and here's what he came up with.
I can't wait to run them as they are currently in the mail but Mr. Bott ran one over the phone for me and it has turkey in it.

Call on left is made from figured Asian Satinwood, call on right is made from Marblewood, both have buffalo horn mouthpieces.
Both sound great!

I think about any call Barry picks up has turkey in it :)

Thats cool Barry, they look really cool too.

A few years ago I took a few pieces of brass (wwII veteran) from my grandpeppies funeral, cut the primer end off and used it in a couple wingbone calls for my uncle and daddy, they both were in Vietnam so I took the symbols from their units and put on the side, they came out sweet looking but not so great for calling maybe deadened the sound a bit or something, still could call a bird with them I believe though.
