so close so close
This morning got on the same bird in the same spot. I hit the box call GOBBLE. I moved to what I thought was a good distance, the whole time he was gobbling. I gave him a few clucks, and he came running. He was answering everything I threw at him, I gave him a cut and he gobbled 3 times. Once I saw him I stopped calling and he was coming full strut. He got about 50yds, I took the safety off waiting for him to come a lil closer. Everything was about to come together, when out of nowhere to my right comes a hen. She ran right to him, and he forgot all about me and went back the way he came. I'm sitting there still in shock of what happened. I waited for a hour and a half calling every 30min or so, and never heard another gobble. But it was fun listening to him get all fired up and answer me right back.

Congratulations on bringing him in that close. Be assured that you are doing things the right way and your calling is productive. It is hard to compete with the real thing!
