Nov. 5th Buck
I saw several does on Windy Saturday but no buck movement at all. I decided to go back to the same spot on Monday morning and set all day. The morning weather was perfect but no deer movement first thing. I decided this year that I would rattle quite a bit more than I have in the past. I had rattled and grunted a couple time the first hour of daylight and continued to see no activity. I rattled and grunted about 8:00 and no more than 15 minutes later I heard something and looked to my right. I saw a shooter coming to me from right to left in front of me. Instantly decided I would try him if he gave me the chance. He got to about 50 yards directly in front of me and stopped perfect. Never looking at his head again I shot and knew I had hit him. As he took off I saw entrance hole behind his shoulder and knew I Hit him good. As he went out of sight I was sure I heard him crash. I thought he was probably a great 8 or so. Ends up he grew by the time I found him. 11 point - 20" Inside - 22" Outside - Dressed out at 160#. My best Buck by far!!! I am still on cloud nine.

Congratulations! There are some great deer in that area of the state. I hunted National Forest on Johns Creek Mtn a lot while I was in school in Blacksburg.

Re: Nov. 5th Buck
Im not a deer hunter but do know enough to tell a great buck from the typical ones. That is a great one. Congrats.
