Re: Abby's Gobbler...
Great story. Amazing all the hunting lands we used to know that have been changed over time. Places I used to hunt are sub-divisions or in the process of being sub-divisions. Others have been either heavily poached or access lost over time. Thanks goodness I've got a few relatives who have some decent land that holds both turkey's and deer. Not close, but still in the state. Also have another farm that's available for now, but for the right price its gone as well. Good news is at least for this year, things look good. Abby is the real deal as are her parents. Good luck the rest of the season.

Re: Abby's Gobbler...
Freddy,
Nice job, and nice pics! Hope I can take my own children one day. I understand all too well the pain you feel about that farm being clear-cut. The same was done to a large, beautiful section of my family's farm a decade ago; it made me sick to my stomach. However, the turkeys didn't care, as soon as the logging was finished the birds were back in the clear cut feeding constantly, I believe they actually liked it. Fly-downs from the surrounding woods into the clear cut were common, and I almost want to say the local flock increased in size after the clear cut. Is there any timber adjacent to the piece being cut? If so, should be fine. Good luck
Jason

Question, got a .410 and 20 for Dale. 20 rocks him pretty good. What kind of range do you think you can take a bird with a .410? Did you use standard 3" ers? Just wondering.
Congrats again!
Vic She shot this gobbler right at 20 steps... she killed her jake spring before last at 19 steps. It's a 20 yard gun, no further. She shoots 3" # 6's.
