 Great morning with my younger brother!!! Pic updatedLast year youthday for Hayden, my much... much younger 15 year old half brother ended with a late morning longbeard! Started off on a large flock with 4-5 longbeards and ended up with 2 at 15 yards but on the wrong side of the tree for him to get a shot. Took a break for breakfast and went back in at 9am to another piece of woods we heard one gobbling at first light. 1st series of calls from the glass brought an instant gobble from 200 yards...we moved up the field edge to get a bit closer and he gobbled at 60 yards...Luckily it was thick and we sat down and i got him with his gun trained down the only opening in front of us. Old gobbler came past us at 20 yards but was too thick to get a shot. He made it to the field...strutted for 10 minutes at 30 yards but still too thick..We were allowed some movement and I got him around on the field side of the tree. By the time we did that he started back to the woods but closer. Got Hayden back on the woods side just as the gobbler cut in a deeer trail at 15yards....I wispered to get his gun on a 2 foot gap between to pin oaks...Just as his head appeared...BOOM! Didn't even flop! He said this was the best spring break ever....Words dont describe how I felt..Just damn proud!!!
