Welcome to the American Wild Turkey Hunting Dog Association!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our friends from the American Wild Turkey Hunting Dog Association! This fine group was looking to expand their website with a forum, and since VA is home to the turkey dog, VA Turkey.com was the logical place for them to get started! You can visit their website at http://www.turkeydog.org/You will now notice on the main forum page ( index.php) a new section for "AWTHDA" and specific categories for them. They will use our general forum section as well, but keep the turkey dog specific threads in there. Please drop in on the new AWTHDA forums and welcome them over! Freddy

What a great organization! Welcome aboard all. Fall turkey hunting has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I was lucky enough to hunt with the legend Kit Shaffer when I was a kid and I still remember the experience.

Thank you Freddy for doing this. And thanks for the compliments, I appreciate that. But a good deal of the credit is due the Virginians who shared their knowledge and expertise with everyone. I like to think Kit Shaffer is smiling.

Welcome guys! Deja vu... That might have been me... Oops! I noticed some security changes that needed to be made and was just in there doing that. It shouldn't allow people to post as "Guest" any longer... it will require a login. Guests can still view the forum. Please don't hestiate to let me know if anyone has any problems/questions!

Thanks for the warm welcomes, happy to be here. I've been trying to upload an avator with no success. Are there directions somewhere?

One of our earliest contributors to the AWTHDA died Friday March 16. Parker sure made a difference in his time. The turkey hunting dog community has lost a dear old friend. I hear Peaches, Chief, Rocky, Bruce and Patch howling now. http://www.turkeydog.org/ParkerWhedon.html

I can remember meeting that fine gentleman a couple times and speaking with him often over the phone. His contributions to turkey hunting will never be forgotten.
