I spotted a flock near my house yesterday evening so got up to to see if i could hear my first gobble of the year. So I stepped outside on the porch with a cup of coffee in hand (i did say they were close to the house
) and waited on the show to begin. Well it never happened. Heard a lot of hen talk though. They finally showed there selves in the field and I watched them for a few hours. There were 6 gobblers and 17 hens but only one strutted. I also watched the strutter breed 2 hens within a 30 minute time frame. I was about 125-150 yards away and could easily hear him spitting and drumming. Here's a pic I took with camera through a pair of binos. He bred the hen you see posturing on the right side of the screen.
