Congrats. Nice hunt. Not too many turkeys get taken with a 28. What is super shot? Do you load 9's in the second barrel too, or something bigger?

The super shot is very dense 18g/cc shot. I use nothing but nines since the nines have the penetration energy of #4 lead, but with almost 3 times the pellet count. So, in that sense, my 28 ga load is like shooting a 3.5 oz load of copper plated #4 lead...

I did a search and couldn't find it. Is it available in retail shells, or just for hand loading?

It's just for handloading. I actually bring it in and make it available for guys on a couple forums, so they can have it about half the price it's available retail. It's still expensive, but nastier than what it costs.

Very interesting. Do you happen to know its component elements (I was a chemistry major)? I expect it is mostly tungsten. Sounds like something that would be worth the cost for the specific use of hunting turkeys (relatively infrequent shots) with a sub-gauge gun, just as you are doing.
