This is for the serious extended-range shotgunners, there's only one choice. The Model SP-10. Its 10-gauge bore produces significantly superior patterns and less felt recoil than any 12-gauge, 3 1/2" gun out there. And like all Remington shotguns, it excels in the most extreme hunting conditions. It features a corrosion-resistant system, in which the cylinder, not the piston, moves, helping dampen recoil. It's the only shotgun worthy of the ultimate 3-1/2" bird-leveling payload - the 10 gauge. The SP-10 magnum comes with a vent rib Rem choke barrel and twin bead sights and safety switch. Interchangeable full and modified Rem chokes are included. Mossy Oak Obsession finish. Rem Chokes. Fiber-optic sights. Thumbhole stock, Anyone looking to get one......... :smt003

I have held one and they are big. Like holding onto a log. I am sure they wish they had one of those during WWII. I am sure it would knock down an enemy plane like a duck flying over a small pond. :D

My cousin has a double barrel 10, I have seen it drop geese out at 70 to 80 yards. It is a beast. You do have less felt recoil for 2 reasons, it has more surface area for the powder to push on so you don't need to generate at much force to move the shot. Most guns are also heavy.

GN shoots a single shot 10. I am sure he will comment.

10ga now has no more killing power than a 12ga...

Unless they can get the shot to travel fast in a 10ga vs a 12... no difference... The best you can hope for is a better patterning gun...

As far as the 10ga 70-80 yard shots  i doubt it

Save your money for a Osceola hunt lol
