Post Back from Texas
My annual trip to Texas to hunt with Maverick this year is definitely one I will not forget anytime soon. First, it rained 8 less inches this year over last! The weather was perfect. Our friend Brian, whose property we hunted, was able to join us for two of the three days which was really great. After a day and a half of hunting we had 6 birds between us- all three year olds and older! I have never experienced anything quite like it. We were in the game from dawn til dusk each day. Maverick and I doubled for the first time. Maverick and Brian also doubled again the next day - it was Brian's first Spring gobbler too! We had coyotes, opossums, skunks, copperheads and deer encounters. Maverick and I almost stepped on the copperhead. He slithered off the trail and curled up next to a tree long enough for me to snap a pic.

I want to thank Brian and Maverick for a hunt of a lifetime. If I never turkey hunt again, I will not be disappointed. This has truly been a blessed season all the way around. Texas IS like a whole 'nother country!

I'd be interested in the details of the hunt i.e., outfitter, cost, and location. Might make that my vacation next Spring
Thanks :D
