public land buck down!
this happened monday in amelia wildlife management area, i was sitting on the edge of this field where the deer cross to move from the oaks down near the river to the thick stuff, i got in at 530 and the wait began ...daybreak came and i heard turkeys yelping and kee keeing and flying down still no deer. 8:00 came around real quick .still no deer , but could still hear turkeys in the woods .... 9 :00 came and still no deer, i decided i was going to look for a turkey and as i was packing my stuff up( im set up on on the edge of a field/ road keep in mind) i heard a stick break so i looked up and BAM. i noticed a good rack and this deer is staring right at me , i reached behind me and grabbed my gun and shot him and he just dropped ... i thought it was about 100 yards , turned out to be 130 yard shot and i was excited to see him laying there this bullet did its job! and i am in the process of boiling my trophy now

Very cool! Surprised you got to shoot, guess he hadn't figured out what you were yet.
I too am wondering what rifle and bullet you used. Looks like a copper solid.

Re: public land buck down!
That's a great buck and nice pictures. I also recovered the Barnes bullet from the doe I shot opening morning. It looks almost like yours. I was shooting a Barnes .451 275-grain XPB (actually designed for the 460 S&W, but useable in a muzzleloader with sabot). The doe was quartering toward me sharply, and it went in just in front of one front quarter, traveled through the deer lengthwise, and was laying against the hide on the very back end of her belly. Now that's good bullet performance.

Barnes makes great bullets. Surprised you are recovering them. They usually punch right through. Guess I am old, still using lead conicals. They work great for me.
