GS Scores on Rainy, Dreary Morning in Tenn.

This is what I had this rainy dreary windy morning. It
was breaking day when I started my walk up the hill to
my listening spot. After standing there for a
while I thought I heard a faint gobble across the valley
on the other side. The wind was picking up and I hadn't
heard a thing here. So I decided to try the corner of
the pasture field just below where I though I heard the gobble, I had on occasions seen turkeys there before. After walking down through the hay field,
crossing the electric fence, I turned down the edge for
about 200yds then crossed the barbed wire fence into
the pasture field. I had never hunted there before
and it was wide open. I found a good size popular tree along the wooded fence line that would make a fairly good place to sit. It was good daylight around
7:00am I had no sooner sat down I heard a crow cawing at
something up the fence line toward the top of the hill. I thought it might be a coyote, I leaned out to take a peek up the fence row. I saw not a coyote but a
turkey coming fast. I couldn't tell if it was a gobbler or not. I could just get glimpses of it
through the growed up fence. I barely had time to
get gun in position when it arrived at 25 yards.... it was a lone tom!
What timing!
