Son gets a good one
Had two birds coming and gobbling hard. We were expecting an opportunity to double. When they came down the hill in the clear and in range, we were somewhat disappointed that they were jakes. We toyed with them for a while. I managed to get the digital out and videoes them gobbling every time I would cutt. On one of my cutts I heard another gobble come from somewhere. The jakes and the yote that showed up looking for a jake lunch all left and I cutt hard again trying to locate that other gobbler. I found him and he was getting closer. One more set of cutts and gobbles. I told Michael to watch for that periscope head to pop over the ridge and start searching for his woman. He did, and spotted the dekes and the rest is history. 19lbs, 1 1/16 & 1 1/8 spurs, two beards-10.5 and 7.5.
Freddie/Hody I couldn't find youth hunt topic so I put it under "In state contest entries".
By the way, we have called in 8 toms now, all with "Yello Yelper" from Max. Then when I went to put in cleaner yesterday evening, it was gone. I must have dropped it when I was putting it in the case and with the excitement I didn't notice.

Great Job Shopson, I will make the post and move it over for you.
I bet the boy was pretty happy at all the action. Too bad the yote got away.

GN that's very possible, plus there are a ton of jakes this year too. Those two we called in Sunday looked like they would weigh 17lbs a piece.

Congratulations! It doesn't get much better than that, does it?
