Post 2006 Spring Gobbler Survey
Virginia hunters your participation is requested for the 2006 spring gobbler season survey. The survey has been conducted since 1987 in an attempt to gain better information on the status of Virginia’s wild turkey population as well as information on characteristics, attitudes, and preferences of wild turkey hunters in Virginia. Results from these surveys help evaluate wild turkey season length and bag limits, which are the primary wildlife management tools used to effect desired population goals. The survey request information from daily hunts and opinions and other information. A free copy can be obtained from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries at http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/va ... 6_form.pdf postage is prepaid for these surveys and you will receive a copy of the results at the end of the season. Thank you for your cooperation in the effort to sustain our wild turkey population here in Virginia.
To review the results of 2005 you can visit http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/va ... index.html

Thank you for posting this for me Scott. It is really important that we all participate in this survey. I know it may not be much but there is a section where you can voice your own opinions and suggestions for the upcoming season, comments on the current season and unusual encounters. All of which are reviewed and taken into consideration. They are also recorded in the survey publication at the end of the season, which you will get a copy of as well as a free calendar from the Department of Game and Fish for your participation in the survey.

Scott THANKS. I meant to post this Friday and got busy. Guys this is a great survey and you get some really nice info back from Gary Norman. It is also a good way to keep track of your season. Make a copy of this before you send it in and then you will have it to look back on for upcoming years. This way you can see when you hear the most and possibly pattern your results over time.

I've been doing the survey for the last couple of years. It's a fun thing to do and you can see the value of your input. Please participate.

Put mine in the mail a few days after the season ended. If you haven't completed yours, do it and get it to the VDGIF.
