That makes 44 so far. Sounds like a pretty healthy total. Any more?

Well I had just an amazing season. I didn't know just how great it was until I started thinking it over the last couple days. I ve never seen weather this good or gobblers respond this well ever!
Here it is: Every body that hunted w/ me this year took a longbeard. 8 different hunters took 9 birds in front of my calling. ( none are registered here though I've been plugging) . 3 were first timers! I took 2 myself for a total of 11. I was having so much fun I really didn't realize what was happening.

I took 2, one with an 11" beard and over 1" spurs the other with 10&1/2" beard one inch spurs. My brother took 2 and my dad took one all with 10" beards. I called 15 mature birds into gun range this year. April was an awesome month bird could be heard from all around. Last day I went the 22 of April heard 6 birds that day. I did not go back hunting until around the 8th of May and it was horrible no birds to be heard anywhere at any of my private spots. May was just awful here in Dickenson and Buchanan Co. I believe mainly due to the cold front that sat down on top of us. But overall AN AWSOME SEASON. I really hope this cold front moves out of here so this year’s hatch will have a chance to make it.
