Post SUCCESS at LAST
Well.....after many days of hunting hened up birds and fighting old turkeys i finally was able to harvest a bird on Sat. He flew down at 6:30 into the field about 150 yards in front of me. He was just walking and feeding. He never gobbled or strutted. He walked all the way across the feild to the edge of the woods that i was sitting on and walked all the way down the wood edge to me at 30 yards and stopped. I killed him at 9:00 sharp. Man the weigth of the world felt like it had been lifted off my shoulders. After the year i had last year and the way this one had started it wasnt looking good. But persistance finally pays off......I had my brother with me so it was nice to get to share it with him also. I thanked GOD for allowing me to be able to harvest another one of his WONDERFULL creations. THe bird weighed 16 pounds had a 7 inch beard and just a hair over 1/2 inch spurs. Not the biggiest bird i have killed but he sure made this turkeyhunter feel AWESOME! :D :D :D

Good job Reed,
No matter the size, those 11th hour gobblers are always special.

Alright! I remember last year that you were pretty discouraged. Way to go!! I guess persistence really is where it's at!!

You definately earned that bird, Reed. Congrats on putting the finishing touches on a hunt so near the end of the season. Like I always say, you can't kill 'em from the couch.
