anyone using new montana decoy?
My brother has been using the new montana struttin tom decoy.
It is extremely compact and easy to carry and it can be put up in just seconds, plus it looks really good.
However he has had both GOOD and BAD results.
3 toms have come right in to it while 3 others have actually turned and left once they saw it.
It looks VERY REAL, on one video it's hard to tell that there is only one REAL tom in the picture.
Our theory is that maybe the sub-dominant toms think that this is "The Man" and don't want to risk invading his territory. The 3 birds that came on in were 2, 3 & 4 years old.
Any oppinions?

I think you answered your own question. Subdominant birds would most likely shy away.

Barry I have always said that nothing will work all the time.I have had decoys to run birds off and this year have had one feather flex jake and one feather flex hen out on all three birds and they worked wonders.I think that birds that has been fooled by decoys and didn't get clobbered will sure look hard at it next time around. On the other hand I think two year old birds are a lot like you were when you was 15 years old,you knew that there was something out there that you wanted but didn't exactly know how to go about it.What do you think?????

CottonTop,
I guess it is like being a freshman in highschool and having to fight a senior for the prom queen. We all know how that works.
