Post Short but Sweet
Back in the turkey woods today again with my boss and Shane tagging along. We went to a spot were me and Shane scouted 2 sundays ago and heard one. We got there around 5:40 and within minutes one sounded off in the distant. About 5 min later the one we was after gobbled about 100 yds away. We went down a gas lin and setup on him. Shane & my boss was 20 yds in front of me. After a soft tree yelp i waited until he hit the ground which was real early. After on the gound a few clucks and yelps and then the old wing trick ( Freddy you ought to try this Ha ha). He gobbled then and i knew it was a matter of time before Shane was going to get the shot. I saw shane ease his head down on the gun and then there he came and then Shane 20 ga went off and he flopped right over. This was the earliest kill i have ever been on it was only 6:15 and Shane was holding his gobbler. Yesterday Shane went by himself and called in one and missed him but not today!! I read were someone posted were gobbblers lose weight during the season and this one was one of them. He had a 10 in beard , 1 1/8 spurs but only weighed 15.11 lbs. It is time now for Shane to call one in for me!!
