Post Dizzy gets his bird…
As some of you know I’ve been suffering from an inner-ear infection and last week was really a struggle with keeping my balance. I’ve seen the Dr. and got some medication but can still feel the effects of the infection.

Anyway… I was feeling pretty crummy and didn’t even think I would be able to hunt but got up early enough and decided that I would be okay just going somewhere that I didn’t have to walk far and would be easy to get in and out of. This would be the first hunt by myself this season and the first time I’ve hunted a Saturday by myself in YEARS.

Amy and I had seen a gobbler using a field several times this season and I decided that since it was easy to get to I would just go there, put out a couple dekes, build a “nestâ€

Hey Freddy,
Congrats on the bird.
Sorry to hear about the inner ear ordeal, been wondering where you were.

On another note, did you get that photo I emailed you?
I didn't know whether you could put that on my post or not.

Keep gettin' better, there's plenty of gobblin' left.

Barry...

I didn't get the pic... try to send it again and I'll post it for you.

I'm going to pretty much hunt the rest of the season and try to get Robbie (my brother) a bird and maybe get Amy on another one.

Had a friend in hunting Mon-Wed and he missed an opportunity at one at 25 yards when the gobbler boogered and then missed a shot at one 30 minutes later... too far...

Freddy awesome story. Was it hard to focus on his head due to the dizziness. I believe I shot off the same tail feather on my bird this year.

Congrats

Tom

TK... not really... as long as I am still and not moving my head I'm okay.

His fan was not shot by me but someone else earlier in the season I guess. I noticed it as soon as he came into the field and strutted. It's definately from a pellet going through, what I beleive, was a closed fan... probably shot at running I suspect...

Good job Freddy.Nice bird but it does have a lot of blond in his fearhers.I guess some just have different coloration.I got one last year that was almost black.I was going to have it mounted but I know some of my real good buds would say it was a tame gobbler."Keep Looking Up"Hope you get well enough to finish out the season.
