great morning, great show!!!
Went Monday morning and set up along a huge field. When the magic time arrived the birds started HAMMERIN'. It was the most gobbling that I've heard in a long time. After hitting the ground they were still hot.
Before I go any further I'll tell you that I was with a friend and we were using his "Pretty Boy" struttin' tom decoy.
About 7:00 AM 3 birds entered the field about 300 yards away. I hit'em with some calls and they cut me off. They slowly started strutting our way but they could not see Pretty Boy because of the contour of the field. I played with them to make'em gobble as they came in. Then IT HAPPENED, they saw Pretty Boy and came the last 100 yards on a dead run. The lead bird wasted no time in jumping up and spurring the decoy. After knocking it to the ground he stood on top of it as if he were breeding it. After the lead bird had his fun I sent a swarm of #6's toward his head. 18 3/4 lb, 9 inch beard, 1 1/16 spurs.
GREAT MORNING, GREAT SHOW, just glad God let me be there to enjoy it.

great hunt, i need to get some male decoys. I'd love to see a live bird get into a fight with a fake one.
