Post The big miss
Went out this morning on National forest. Called in a gobler after about 45 minutes of calling. The bird came in and put on a show just out of range of my shotgun. I then give some soft yelps and he cut to the side and came straight in, but in some brush. I had one opening at 25 yards, when he hit that I clucked to stop him. Didn't have a good view of body but could see his head. I shot and he sailed off the Mnt. Must have been to thick. Had fun, just disapointed about the miss.

We've all been there and done that... if you haven't it's because you haven't shot at enough turkeys! Bummer on the luck! You'll get him next time!!

Don't sweat it Econo... I had an incredible hunt with 5 longbeards all coming in around 10 am Monday morning. Decided to take a shot through the only hole I had and more than half my pattern hit a 2" diameter tree not 20 yards from me. Disappointing... but still an awesome hunt.

Hang in there man!

I know how you feel! I missed on my first shot ever at a turkey.

You were in the game!! You saw the show!! Not commonplace things in the turkey woods.
