When I got my Mossburg 835, I shot 12 different times trying different loads. I got to where I was flenching before I pulled the trigger. I figured it was time to stop for the day.

I do think it is wise to pattern with a few different loads to see what preforms best in your gun.

I think, at least for me, it also gave me confidence that what I had tried was going to do the job.

Besides that, it can be just plain fun :!:

My buddy has one and it is just about the best thing since sliced bread. We shot probably 50 turkey loads off it two weeks ago and if you take out aiming (it has lots of adjustments for different guns) and you take out recoil its really easy to try different loads.

I know a couple of years ago I took out my SBE and shot multiple rounds off a bench rest. I think at the end of the day I was a flinching fool. Hard to really test any load when you are yanking on the trigger.

What are you going to do with the extra 20 ga chokes you didn't like?

Let me know what you are looking for. I figure I've got four different 20 gauge tubes which don't seem to work for me with this 870.
