I know this is not a turkey topic but there is no "other" forum. And there are many crows around when you are trying to turkey hunt. Anyways I was wondering if any of you guy/gals have suggestions on how to make a cheap home-made decoy of a crow? I looked at the manufactured ones and they are almost 50.00 per decoy OUTRAGEOUS!

Kill a chicken and paint it black.

take coat hangers, bend the triangle part into a crow shape, and cover it in black garbage bags. straighten the hook out and stick em in the ground.

Read this somewhere, don't remember where, but they took plastic drink bottles, a mix of 1 liter and 2 liter sizes, painted them black and spread them out for decoys. At least it's cheap, who knows it might work.

If you kill a crow, use the dead crow as a decoy. Did this very recently on a crow hunt with Big Bird and it was amazing how the live crows honed in on the dead ones. Also know I have used this waterfowl hunting by tucking the head under the wing and laying them out on a sandbar. Especially deadly on geese.

Use an owl decoy, then you only need 1. Or cut out some silouettes from cardboard, paint em black maybe slide a piece through a slit in some for 3d effect glue to a clothes pin, clip on a branch and start callin.

these are $12 a piece from Cabela's. In my experience you don't need too many of these.

Putting a dead crow out sounds real good. As long as it is one you killed that day. If you killed it last week or last mounth, it could be a bit gross

Actually there is a crow website and forum. It is called crowbusters.com. They have a forum, articles and a store to buy stuff. I have bought some crow decoys from wing supply (they have a web site) i think they cost about 12-15 dollars for three. They are pretty big and are made out of hard plastic. I have also bought some smaller decoys made out of styrofoam from Gander Mountain and i believe they cost about 3-4 dollers per. I also own a mojo crow. You may have seen the mojo duck and goose and it is the same except it is a crow. I hope that helps you out.
