Strutstopper has another thread going about which boot you would choose if you were him. I just ordered a pair of Rocky Snake boots last night... and have a pair of lightweight & waterproof Rockport hiker's that I've had for 9 years now... and their still going strong.

I'm curious what kind/brand/type of boot do you use for Spring Turkey Hunting and why?

I purchased the Red Head Snake boot for myself. I like the way they feel and fit. So far they are waterproof (made of Gortex). I think they were like $119.00.

I've worn Danner Pronghorns or LaCrosse rubber boots the last two years. Love the Danners, hate the rubber boots.

This year I bought a pair of the Gore-tex snake boots that Rocky is making for Bass Pro. Hopefully it'll be the best of both worlds. I've worn them a few times to break them in and they seem to work well so far.

beans sportsman boots...$99...9inch high, camo goretex, uninsulated..same one I wear for bird hunting. I haver the rocky 16 inch high boots that I wear in snake country in Texas or Fla, Ga, ALa, but since I have never seen a poisonuos snake while turkey huntign in Tenn, Ky, Va, etc i do not wear the high boots locally.

Rocky snake boots, Lacrosse Burly Sport, and Rocky rubber boots. Weather, terrain and how much walking I'm going to do, determain what boots to wear.....

Vasque w/ goretex. For some reason this brand has always fit right and felt like bedroom slippers right out of the box and after hundreds of miles hiking and hunting in the Appalacians or in the Rockys. Feet tend to stay dry too.

Uninsulated Danner Pronghorns.

Same as Big Bird. Danner Pronghorns uninsulated. On my third pair. Only problem I've had is one pair after two years developed a leak up thru the sole. Never had a problem with the other two pair.

Rocky Snake Boots with Gore-Tex...

Uninsulated Rocky. I have snake boots but dont wear them much here.

Long story short, don't get the Rocky Low Country Snake Boots. Although they are comfortable they are not waterproof! I've had 2 pairs through Cabela's and neither were waterproof. The second pair walking through dew would get your socks wet. Talked with a Product Representative at Cabela's and he told me some interesting stuff about boots...waterproof is not always what we would consider waterproof. He said the Low Country boots have taped seams and are sprayed with a waterproofing substance. He said if you want waterproof and not rubber boots, go with Gore-Tex. That is what I wound up doing. If you've had a pair of the Low Country's from Cabela's and start having problems, you have 1 year to return them.....(I think Rocky honors a 1 year on them too)

Rocky Gore-Tex, camo, insulated w/Bear Paw soles...good and light also....

Last year I bought a pair of $15. walmart rubber ducky boots and ended up hunting all season.....comfortable as long as it's not freezing, and keep the lower legs dry...can hike all day in them.
