That may be it.......I'm not sure........I do know that there have been gobblers outfitted with transmitters in a place that I hunt regularly.....this guy said something about transmitting off vibrations.....I don't know.

I went on a hunt in New Kent last year with Wheelin' Sportsmen, one of the guys killed a jake with radio collar. Heard the DGIF would pay a "reward" for returning it.

I talked to a guy in the sporting goods section at the Christiansburg Wal-Mart and he told me he killed a Gobbler last spring with a band on its leg in Pulaski County.

Saw some more info ont he transmitters you were referring too...

This spring, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries technicians are equipping 10 toms with an experimental “necklaceâ€
