Post Use of drags on the K9 line
Having had the rare privledge of running my line in the snow for a couple days this past January, I made a suprising discovery. I always though I do pretty good with greys because I catch a decent number of them. However, excepting some yote sets in the open on lanes, every dirt hole I had out during the snow days was visited by greys.....from behind. Tracks came in and checked the set out from about a foot behind without working the set and moved on. So next year I plan experiment with drags. I want to have 2 traps at each set without double catching critters. I'll but a fox trap in back on a drag and yote trap in front on a drag and see how that goes. Should keep sets working after the first catch, and hopefully pick up quite a few more greys as well. Interested to hear thoughts of anybody that's tried this.
