The Kiss of Death
After the experiences of my friends and myself recently, I've come to the conclusion that no call can be made that is superior in the short range than the trick of sucking on the back of one's hand. The latest event occurred yesterday evening. A friend and I were watching some beautiful Tazewell County farmland in hopes a buck would make an appearance. Right at dark coyotes started to cut loose. Not to far off a lone howler started. I began sucking the back of my hand to see what would happen. I tried it a few minutes, but it was getting close to dark so we started to walk out. We walked about 15 yards and turned to see the yote heading straight at us. My friend made a good head on shot at 40 yards and now one fawn killer is dead. Try this trick when coyotes are close, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
