Post subject: | Attention Trappers- Anti Bill up for Vote in Va. |
got this from another site. this is very important and thanks too Scott painter for posting this. Kill hunting? or Kill SB 202 The Humane Society is working against hunters, trappers, gun owners, dog owners and sportsmen by introducing SB202. 202 either bans Foxhound Training Preserves and makes it a class 1 misdemeanor for building or maintaining one OR it may have a serious onerous language which would put the sport out of business. This bill would cause the owner to have a court record and pay a significant fine and put the owner out of business. 202 will be heard this Thursday, February 9th in Senate Room A of the Virginia General Assembly. Please be in the Senate Room about 12 P.M. Every seat we don’t fill will be filled by a Humane Society member. I urge all Trappers (TITLE??), Training Preserve Owners, Virginia Hunting Dog Alliance, NRA members, hunt club members, members of the VA Foxhound Association, Fox Trial participants, both in state an out-of-state who have spent money in Virginia last year, to call the Senators (www.leg1.state.va.us) giving them reasons to oppose SB202. Or simply say “I oppose 202. Reject any amendments. There are already strict regulations on preserves.” Definitely working with the Humane Society are Senators Marsden, Peterson and Ebbin. Perhaps J Miller and McEachin. Definitely supporting hunters, hunting and the NRA position to oppose this bill are Senators Hanger, Watkins, Ruff, Puckett, Stanley, and Blevins – thank them for their support and let them know to to this bill. I believe that the “undecideds” could possibly be Senators Black, Stuart, Northam and Obenshein – all key votes. The full Senate should hear your concerns but here are members to be sure to contact. The following Senators have a large amount of hunters, dog owners, NRA members and people who depend fox preserves to help the local businesses survive.
