what would be the best length of rebar stake to use on a coyote and fox set? and should the trap be double staked?or is it a better staking method. thanks

hello, i would start here first. this trappers ed class has taught me a lot. and will make you a little trap smarter also.most stakes are 18" to 24" long. and dbl. stakes are better for coyotes and bobcats and fox's. i myself use the Berkshire disposable stakes. easier to use and works a lot better i thing. plus you don't have to pack all the re bar stakes around. thanks denny

Bronco, looks like your trap didn't take the dye? IMO....if it's new and not already rusted, just wash the grease off and wax it.

Sometimes it isn't about stake length it depends on your soil type. What really bites is to drive a 24" stake 20" into the ground and then hit bedrock.

I would add an in-line swivel to the chain if I were targeting coyote.
