Thought I'd share a couple pics of me and my brothers recent trapline. First is that black coon i had mentioned.

a nice red on the day we pulled traps, always seems we have a good day on the day we have to pull our traps up.

Love to the pics! How many traps you all got out? I'll be putting a pretty good line out next weekend, can't wait!

We fluctuated between prolly 40 and 120 traps, adding and pulling as the week went along. Some farms we had to pull because it just got so muddy we were having to walk to much.

Bigmeat,
What bait/attractant do you use for your fox sets?

Thank you for sharing.

That is a nice dark coon, should get an extra few bucks for that. What is the going rate for some of the hides. I know they aren't as good as they use to be, but a friend has been doing pretty well with muskrat. He sells the hide for about $5 each then sells the meat for a dollar or so each. Down the shore it is considered a delicacy.

All the fox sets are dirthole sets with just a very small amount of commercially made fox lure down the hole placed right on the dirt. No bait at all. We've always been partial to anything made by Carmen or Hawbaker.

Prices were up a bit last year Vic, we won't know what we get this year until the auction in late May/early June of this coming spring. It changes every year so it's hard to even speculate. What one receives today could drastically change between now and 6 months from now. We try to make enough to pay all expenses and still have a little left over. We're usually successful enough to pull that off.
