Post Post season pics of one of my duck ponds...
This particular impoundment had millet and rice in it.....Hardly any ducks found it during the season. I never hunted it at all due to low numbers using it. Was prolly 50 in this pond Friday. Didn't get pics of all the varieties but there were mallards, blacks, woodies, pintail and widgeon. Go figure ....after the season and here they are!

how do you grow the rice? i assume you had a dike system to control water levels so curious how you mannage rice and millet in same impoundment--i thought one required dry ground and the other water coverage?

GN-There are two impoundments side by side with a large dike between with floodgate flashboard risers. Each one is about 1.5 acres. One had rice in managed shallow water. The other has millet and short grain sorghum planted in June and flooded in October with fall rains or 500 foot well.

Great pictures. Same issue by me. All the birds starting showing up in the last three weeks. Seeing mallards every day.
