Our duck hunting, and goose hunting for that matter, has been horrendous this year due to lack of water. We haven't had any ducks or geese at all to hunt. With the rain last week we finally got some water, but no ducks, but decided to give it a go on Monday before everything freezes up.
Abby wanted to join Dale and myself and despite the 28 degree temps she hung in there watching empty skies until a few small groups of geese flew over high and at least gave us something to look at. On the float out we devised a plan to try and get Abby a shot at the geese and it didn't work out as planned but when a group of 11 got up and flew right over the bow of the canoe Abby swung her 20 gauge and dropped a big, fat goose. This was Abby's first waterfowl hunt carrying the gun and it was a huge success!
Abby wanted to print off a picture to take to school to show all the boys...
Abby's, of course, was the biggest...
