Re: Nest Parasitism Brings back the story of the ugly duckling to me. I knew it happened, but not to the degree this article states. I am surprised this action doesn't cause crossbreeding. You would think that a red head raised by a mallard would think it is a mallard. Fascinating that they go back to their own for mating purposes.
