Took a couple of my mennonite neighbors this am to one of my ponds. There had been about 50 or so ducks feedn in there. I thought, mainly green heads.....to my supprise.......Wigeon and Pintails....I missed 2 sprigs clean! Happy New Year!

Nice hunt. Pintails just happen to be the VDGIF calendar pic for the month of January. Definately a beautiful duck.

Now that we had a little thaw, I saw a flock of 20 or so mallards with 2 pair of pintails in with them in one of my ponds today.....Gonna give them a rest until after next week.......I'm leavin Fri for week in Hatteras and Ocracoke, shootin lot's of pintails, redheads, blackheads(g. scaup), brant, wigeon, buffs and some surf scooters....Hopefully. Talked to my budy in Ocracoke last night & he said he saw some brant....about 2000 pintails......and 2 rafts of redheads (bout a thousand)...... out on the reef yesterday afternoon......Lookin good!
