Should have brought the dog....was worried about the ice. Ended up losing this cripple by the time we got through the mud.

Looks like a couple of good flocks of honkers. Are you still seeing ducks down there? Most of the small water around here is frozen over and looks like most of the ducks have moved out? I have seen a few groups of canadas but they have been decoy shy. I need to take the camera and get a few pics.

Probably saw a thousand ducks early. All the back water and Curles Neck swamp are frozen so they were moving on the river pretty well. They guy in the picture has a farm just down the road that's getting over 3000 geese in it a day. We try and leave it alone until the last day to keep them all in there. It's a lot of work just for 2 geese. I'll take some pics of his place later in the week when the geese are in there, it's one of the most amazing things you'll see. Going to the Rappahannock tomorrow, getting pretty good reports of Canvasbacks, Goldeneyes and Bluebills there.

Cool pics. Not sure that muck looks like much fun for man or dog. Sorry about the cripple. It must be getting close b/c when I first glanced at that pic, I could have sworn that bird was in strut, lol.

Hunted yesterday AM across from Urbanna. Have a stake blind off of Lively and one near Carrotman River. Shot a limit of Black Heads and/or blu bills, canvasbacks, and a few ringed necks......a couple of Buffs thrown in too. Saw alot of fowl. Mainly sea ducks and black heads.
