Post Swans
Had a group of swans come off the river today into the marsh. Thy look like 747's compaired to the ducks that were flying around.

Hen, I made a wingbone call from a swan a few years ago.

Did not really work but looked pretty cool.

Post NC swan permits
you can put in for a lottery in NC to take one swan. I have one mounted cupped up over my fireplace! cool mount as the wing span is over 6ft! Only shoot one though because you cant possibly eat the darn things! lots of meat but it tastes FOWL pun intended!!!

Eastern NC near lake Mattamuskeet has something like 10,000 wintering there! Awesome sight just to see them come off the lake to feed!

I got drown this year and went down to Lake Phelps and hunted with Conman's Guide Service. Tons of birds there.

nice bird! i almost took a pair by myself one afternoon. there were some complications though, no permit, it was just me, and i dont think i could have fought off a crippled swan by myself hahaha. i was so tempted to take at least one, i pulled up the cannon some people like to call a 10 gauge and put him in the bead. after a thought of where the h*#$ am i gonna put this thing? and wat if i get stopped? because its not like you can just stuff it somewhere and pray the gw doesnt find it unless your hunting out of a drug boat, or a yacht haha. im signin up for the permit this year though, but if i get it, ill never see a single one just because thats how my luck runs.
