OTW at 0600. Trying to beat the 20 mph predicted SW wind gusts. Any time the tide is against the wind can make Great Bay's rollers quite interesting. Saw one boat fishing Adam's Point and the NH Port Authority boat. Other than that I had the inland sea to myself. Came back on a Bay of whitecaps.

The bugs are crawling. Mostly new shell. Caught over 1.5 pounds per trap and of fifteen traps four were duds.

Three weeks to go before the traps go back into storage. Have enough bait to finish the season. First time in a few years the May alewives provided me with a summer of free bait. And free bait is GOOD!

It has been a good summer for bugging. Not to hot and not much rain. The water in Little Bay is 69 degrees and is ocean clear.

Clamming is open today if you want to risk the thunderstorms. 1600 low tide. Just about the time the boomers are suppose to roll through. I'll have my eye to the sky but a peck ain't worth dying for.

Belle will be home next week. Time to start another chapter in life. Stay tuned for Belle and Birds 2014.

See you next year.
