crappie fishing?
Was just wondering- can you catch crappie in the fall, like you can in the spring time? Never fished for them before till this past spring. I love the taste of them.

Re: crappie fishing?
Fall can be just as good as the spring for crappie fishing. We fish Buggs Island Lake a couple of times a week for crappie from early spring to fall. Find some type of cover, and a slip cork and a minnow, or a small bucktail.

Re: crappie fishing?
Just like muddycatfish said, in the fall they are still bunched up, just in a little deeper water. Typically in the fall I like to head back out the coves where the crappies were earlier in the spring and find the old creek channels. If you can find good structure typically around 15' to 20' of water you can usually find a mess of crappies to put in the frying pan. If they won't hit minnows, go to some small tube jigs ( I like chart/red or white/red colors.)
