It is ice out. The hooded mergansers are fishing for smelts in open water. The water coming over the dam ranks about a five out of ten in flow. The small patch of dirt we call our front yard is showing a green hue of fresh growing grass. My favorite pastime turkey hunting is right around the corner. Bugs and Bass 2011 won't be far behind. I will be looking to cure a nasty disease I came down this winter called "overweightitis". Come on spring! |

I am there with you. Took a walk in the mountains this morning and it did my soul good. Creeks were a bit high due to the recent rain but it was much needed so fishing can wait just a bit. Did see a couple desperate trout fisherman on Wolf Creek though. |

Hi Caddis, 70 degrees in coastal NH yesterday. 39 degrees right now. Suppose to be in the twenties tonight. This has been a normal winter to spring transition so far where we live. Last year the buds had already popped on the low lining bushes. It made for a jungle during turkey season. I hope the ticks took a beating this winter. They were very bad last spring. Does VA have ticks? |

Virginia has too many ticks! The deer ticks are getting worse every year it seems. |
