I have picked up a fly rod again after years away from it. I have local access to lakes and rivers that hold everything from shell-crackers to muskie to spotted, small and largemouth bass. Anyway just curious. This summer has been crazy with high water when I am home and good conditions as I am traveling for work. I have some decent water this weekend and hopefully can get out and about some. I plan on scouting some fall flocks while hoping to bend a 6 wt between now and our fall shotgun season. There's no white meat in the freezer and my kids are asking for "special turkey". Hopefully the clousers I have been tying and the woolly buggers my 8 yr old has worked up will get use the next 6 weeks. Pictures of skunks or fish will be coming.

I have fly-fished the Shenandoah river all summer, as well as a few lakes and small ponds. I tear the smallies up with white Woolly Buggers. Muddlers worked okay too. I hope the fishing picks up a little as the water starts to cool down. I'd like to catch a few more nice fish before deer season takes over my life!
