Another Good day on the Water
Went fishin Saturday morning......after a few hours of no follows or anything, I was pretty pessimistic about my chances, then magic switch flipped on.....around 20 minutes after 9.......a huge fish followed in my lure and I floated on down and actually was gettin ready to motor up to try him again when a 36"er nailed my lure......I got him released and then motored up to try the big one again...I threw in the hole and a fish nailed it and I thought I had the big one......after he surfaced, I was kinda disappointed because it was a 30"er....Never seen the big one again, but I know about where he's at.....plan on givin him another try within a day or two.....all that action happened in about a 40 minute window, and never seen a thing before or after......If I could figure out what spurred all that action and why it was do dead before and after, I'd catch more fish......my goal is to try to catch 12 fish a year (one a month).....these made 11 and 12, so the rest of em from here on out are a bonus.

Yeah, I fish almost exclusively for Musky......every now and then I'll pitch a plastic worm for a smallie or drop a gob of nightcrawlers for a catfish....but 99% of the time I musky fish.
Coalman, I'm on the New River and don't have to deal with tides and so forth......I've been thinking about toying around with live bait, but I believe live bait is kinda tough of fish and wouldn't want a big fish to swallow live bait (Unless it's over 50" in which case I'll position it near my deer heads in my den)
I've had a pretty good year.......I had a great month of September, I'd have to go back and look but I think I caught 9 fish in September......only 1 over 40" though......which brings my total for the year to 19, so far....but that's the best year I've had yet.
