Post How I occupy my time between the deer and turkeys

This is one of the mess of crappie we caught over the Presidents Day Weekend. This was our best day of the 4 we fished. Me, my regular partner, and my son, who had never caught a crappie before in his life, caught 85 crappies and brought home three limits totaling 45.

And what has become my favorite fishing of all, the sauger/walleye run. Also as good as if not better eating than the crappies. High muddy waters at peak time this year kept us from doing as good as in past years but we still but our share in the freezer.

And these two are regulars that we get to watch every year.

Cool Scott, glad to hear from you. I love Walleye. I think they are the best of all to eat. Used to catcha pile in Lake Erie.

Sounds like a great way to whittle away time between hunting seasons.
