Bassin'
Took a buddy of mine to a little pond Friday evening to catch a mess of bass... 1 cast and we had enough! She went back in the water though after a photo shoot!
He thought it was a good fish and then we saw her jump. After a pretty lengthy battle and a scare of a hangup at the bottom (which we were going to dive down for!) the 8 pound 11 ounce bass tired out and I was able to lip her (talk about pressure!!!!)
We had a blast and were acting like 2 twelve year old kids. Fun stuff! I guess this is the equivilent of a Boone & Crocket buck or a 1.5" spurred turkey!
2" Chartreuse Floating Rapala on 6# test line!

Lord, thank you for the Rapalas. Amen!!! That is incredible! Congratulations to both of you. Was that his biggest ever? Guess you'd better add trophy fishing guide to your business card.... Way to go!!

I have fished for years, and I have never come close to one that big. I think she might have gone on my wall right by my citation from VA Game and Fish!!!
OK, maybe I would have just taken pictures, measurments, and them put a fiberglass model on the wall!
But somethin' would be goin' on my wall... right next to my citation from VA Game and Fish!!!

Great fish. Loved the outcome and the release.
That little water hole has provided a lot of memories for sure!
