Anyone fish Rural Retreat Lake......I hear they have some good muskie fishing there......anyone back that up??

i dont know if you have fished his lake or not, but it does have a good population of musky, there are always a few 40" fish caught every year. october is a very good month with most of the fish being caught around the stand pipe at the dam. there is a big cove on the left before you get to that point that they like to feed in. there is no shad or baitfish in the lake. good luck if you try it. let me know if you need any further info

I went down there to fish....I didn't catch any muskies but I did manage a couple of northern pike........when does the weeds die out of the lake??

usually around the middle of october, are the northern's getting any bigger?

I caught one that was 21" and other was 24".....northern's that is........caught both of them on black and silver musky killers.....and now that you mention that cove, I had a decent fish follow me in right there.....probably 36" or so........both northerns came out of the little cove up at the very end of the lake where the pipe is, on the left side.
