She weighed 180 pounds field dressed. I had the best day hunting ever saturday as far as seeing game. In the morning I seen a total of 13 deer, 2 gangs of turkeys, 1 yote, 2 of the deer were bucks. Went back to the same spote saturday eve and climed a tree about 30 yards from where I hunted in the A.M. at 4 PM I seen a deer, at 4:30 another deer, no shots. At 6PM I heard a ruckes behind me, when I turned around there were 4 bears coming off ridge, 3 went out to my right about 50 yards, 1 came dirrectly at me ( the 1 in the pic) when it got about 10 yards frome the base of tree it turned broad side giving me the perfect shot. The other 3 never knew I shot. I was very happy, always wanting to kill a bear
after the shot I watched the other 3 feed for about 10 minutes. They looked liked turkeys scratching in the leaves. They would take there front paws and legs and swipe the leaves on the ground, I guess to find grubs and nuts? Wish I would of had a video cam.

Congrats..

Sounds like a She and either some cubs or yearling offspring??

I would love to kill one with a bow.. came close a couple times I even stuck one .. one year but I hit it too far forward in the shoulder .. gave me a prefect quartering away shot at 20 yds I just missed it forward.. looked for him for two days.. I have killed many with a gun :)

Congrat's!!! Have never killed one. Would like to get one with a bow or a handgun one day.

I am not sure what the deal was, Of the 3 I didn't shoot, 1 looked just as big as the 1 I shot, if not a little bigger, the other 2 may have been a little smaller, but not by much. The 2 that seemed a little smaller, still looked to me like they were 100lbs or better, but they stayed off at a further distance, couldn't get as close a look as the other 2.
